Shire
The Autonomous Modular Robotic Platform
Shire is a general-purpose, highly modular, open-architecture mobile robot platform that can be rapidly
configured for different applications, tools, and sensor setups. Its modular chassis, featuring a hex-rail
mounting system, supports a wide range of payloads and implements—robot arms, cultivation tools,
sprayers, cameras, LiDAR, batteries, and custom research instruments. This makes it an ideal base vehicle
for quickly developing and deploying new robotic applications. The Shire platform can be configured to support various industrial and agricultural operations in open fields or greenhouses. For example, attaching robotic arms for harvesting, pruning, thinning, and weeding; attaching UV-C lighting modules for insect, fungus, and disease control; and loading-dock attachments for harvest assistance and crop transport.
The Shire platform features:
- Heavy-duty, all-terrain chassis
- Flat top decks and rugged mounting rails for attaching custom payloads, sensors, and implements
- Plug-and-play autonomy
- Built-in VCU that supports secondary development
- Adjustable vehicle dimensions and ground clearance
- Expandable battery capacity
- Swappable tires
